GGR Motor Unveils Lion G1 at EV Rider Malaysia 2025 – One Household, One EV

Kuala Lumpur witnessed a landmark moment in green mobility as GGR Motor officially launched its first electric motorcycle, the Lion G1, at an affordable subsidized price of RM1,599 through the MARiiCas program. The grand launch, held at Saloma KLCC on June 28, 2025, was officiated by Deputy Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture, Khairul Firdaus Akbar Khan.

The event was witnessed by prominent figures, including the Chairman of GGR Motor, Tengku Syarif Temenggong Perlis, Datuk Seri Diraja Syed Amir Abidin Jamalullail; Managing Director of GGR Motor, Muhammad Mussaddiq Mohamed Azmi; GGR Motor’s principal partner, Dr. Nizar Abdul Jalil; and the Director General of Majlis Amanah Rakyat Malaysia (MARA), Dato’ Zulfikri Osman.

Adding to the vibrancy of the occasion was the presence of the Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports, Adam Adli Abdul Halim, alongside a lineup of popular local artists.

In his opening address, GGR Motor’s Managing Director, Muhammad Mussaddiq Mohamed Azmi, shared the company’s bold vision: “At GGR Motor, our aspiration is clear—One Household, One EV.

This is not just a slogan, but a genuine commitment to ensure every Malaysian family, regardless of background or where they live—be it in rural villages, urban flats, or FELDA settlements—has access to affordable, high-quality, and efficient electric mobility.” He added, “Today’s event is not just about launching a motorcycle, but about starting a legacy. It is the beginning of change and a future we are building together.”

The Lion G1, GGR Motor’s flagship model, is engineered with a robust 3,000-watt motor, offering a range of up to 120 kilometers on a full charge and fast charging to 50% in just 90 minutes. Backed by a comprehensive warranty of up to 50,000 kilometers, the Lion G1 is priced at RM3,999, but thanks to MARiiCas subsidies, customers pay only RM1,599.

The model has already seen remarkable demand, with 3,000 units sold during pre-launch and the first 1,000 units scheduled for delivery by the end of July 2025.

Building on this success, GGR Motor also introduced its second model, the Tiger R1, priced at RM7,699 before rebates. Expected to hit the market by the end of this year, the Tiger R1 caters to consumers who desire a more aggressive design and higher performance within the electric two-wheeler segment, expanding GGR Motor’s appeal to a broader range of riders.

Coinciding with the launch was the EV Rider Malaysia 2025 Carnival, a national-scale event uniting industry leaders, industry players, government agencies, EV users, and enthusiasts from Malaysia and abroad.

The carnival, which began as early as 8 a.m., featured a vibrant lineup of local celebrities such as Ajak Shiro, Nabil Ahmad, Johan, Cat Farish, Amer Masdi, Ronnie Hussein, Black Hanifah, Bella Astillah, Akhmal Nazri, Farid Kamil, Aaron Aziz, and renowned entrepreneur Dato’ Seri Aliff Shukri.

The festivities continued at Lanai Matic with indie band performances, including Jemson, The Woohoo, and Iqbal, as well as sets from international DJs like Iksan Skuter (Indonesia), DJ Teera (Thailand), and DJ Alip Mazlan (Malaysia).

Carnival-goers also had the opportunity to win a GGR EV motorcycle by purchasing a GGR t-shirt, further fueling excitement and community engagement. “We want every Malaysian to have the chance to own an EV motorcycle at a price that is truly worthwhile,” Mussaddiq emphasized, reinforcing the company’s commitment to inclusivity.

Strong partnerships power GGR Motor’s journey. PMH Motor Sdn Bhd serves as the exclusive strategic partner and main distributor, while industry collaborators like BATERIKU, PETRONAS Lubricants Marketing Malaysia (PLMM), and VECTRIX provide essential support.

The company’s collaboration with MARA is particularly noteworthy, as it opens economic opportunities for MARA entrepreneurs to become EV dealers nationwide and supports technical TVET training and local talent development. The establishment of a TVET skills training center with PMH Motor, in collaboration with IKM Beseri, UNIKL MFI, and other MARA educational institutions, will offer SKM Level 3 training in EV technology, focusing on assembly, maintenance, and sales.

After-sales service is a cornerstone of GGR Motor’s strategy. Through its partnership with PETRONAS Lubricants Marketing Malaysia, the company is rolling out official PETRONAS MotoExpert workshops nationwide, utilizing PETRONAS Iona products as a unique feature at GGR Motor and PMH Motor outlets. BATERIKU, meanwhile, coordinates technical support and maintenance nationwide.

GGR Motor’s reach extends beyond Malaysia, with international collaborations involving Varchea Votol China, Votol Thailand, FJN Guangzhou China, and Vectrix, strengthening its technological edge and supply chain.

As part of its corporate social responsibility, GGR Motor donated five EV motorcycles to mosques and suraus around Kuala Lumpur in conjunction with Awal Muharram, offering free lifetime maintenance as a technological endowment for the community. “Our goal is to give back to society nationwide—this is just the beginning,” Mussaddiq remarked.

The EV Rider Malaysia 2025 Carnival is more than a product launch; it is a national movement. The event featured technology demonstrations, test rides, educational workshops, panel forums, business matching sessions, and shared experiences from users and policymakers.

Its main objectives are to unite regional industry players, raise public awareness of EV technology and its environmental and economic benefits, position Malaysia as a destination for tech tourism, and foster international cooperation among manufacturers, communities, and government agencies.

GGR Motor’s Lion G1 is truly a people’s product—an affordable, practical, and innovative solution for students, delivery riders, and both urban and rural users. Special incentives, including an RM250 discount for eligible e-hailing riders, make the Lion G1 even more accessible.

Mussaddiq concluded, “This is not just the launch of a motorcycle, but the beginning of a legacy. The start of change. The start of a future we are building together. One household, one EV—when you think EV, think GGR.”

With its pioneering spirit, strategic partnerships, and commitment to community and sustainability, GGR Motor is firmly establishing itself as Malaysia’s first fully Bumiputera-owned EV motorcycle manufacturer and a leader in the nation’s green mobility agenda.
