Malaysia is on the brink of a transportation revolution with the launch of EV Rider Malaysia 2025, an electric mobility initiative hosted by GGR Legacy (M) Sdn Bhd (branded as GGR Motor) in collaboration with PMH Motor Sdn Bhd, the company’s exclusive nationwide distributor. The event, scheduled for 28 June 2025, will be officiated by the Deputy Prime Minister of Malaysia, Datuk Seri Dr. Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, and is set to become a landmark moment in the nation’s shift toward sustainable and low-carbon mobility.
Established in early 2024, GGR Legacy (M) Sdn Bhd is a dynamic Malaysian automotive company with a focused mission to advance electric mobility and sustainable transport. Operating under the brand name GGR Motor, the company is led by visionary Managing Director Muhammad Mussadiq Mohamed Azmi, an alumnus of IKM Beseri.
His leadership has been instrumental in positioning GGR Motor as the first fully Bumiputera-owned electric motorcycle manufacturer in Malaysia, making significant strides in building a homegrown green tech industry. He is supported by Dr. Nizar Abd Jalil, the company’s principal partner, who plays a vital role in guiding GGR Motor’s strategic growth.

Currently operating out of a 0.4-hectare assembly facility in Sungai Penchala, Kuala Lumpur, GGR Motor is expanding with a new, fully Bumiputera-owned EV factory featuring state-of-the-art automated production lines, developed through a strategic partnership with China. This new plant will incorporate the latest in automation and technology transfer while retaining local skilled labor and ensuring seamless logistics integration with existing infrastructure.
In tandem with this expansion, GGR Motor is set to unveil five new electric motorcycle models by the end of June 2025 to serve a wider spectrum of riders. This follows the successful debut of its first model, the Lion G1, which achieved a record-breaking 2,400 units sold in just seven days.
Designed to be Malaysia’s most affordable electric motorcycle, the Lion G1 is priced at RM3,999 before subsidies, and just RM1,599 after MARiiCas incentives (RM2,054 on the road). It features a 3,000-watt motor, a maximum range of 120 km per charge, and a fast-charging capability of 50% in just 30 minutes. A comprehensive warranty of up to 50,000 km covers the battery, motor, and controller.
To support its ambitious goal of selling 30,000 units by the end of 2025, GGR Motor is targeting 3,000 units in June and increasing to 5,000 units monthly from July to December. Its market focus includes youth, civil servants, FELDA communities, security forces, and urban and rural populations in need of affordable, sustainable mobility.

GGR Motor’s success is bolstered by strategic partnerships with key players such as PMH MOTOR, the exclusive distributor nationwide; BATERIKU.COM, which provides after-sales service and maintenance across Malaysia; and PETRONAS Lubricants Marketing Malaysia (PLMM), supporting the rollout of PETRONAS MotoExpert workshops specializing in EV maintenance through the PETRONAS Sprinta and Iona product lines at GGR Motor and PMH Motor outlets nationwide. VECTRIX also plays a crucial role as a partner in the EV Rider Malaysia 2025 program, helping to develop technology and infrastructure.
Education and empowerment are also core to GGR Motor’s mission. Together with PMH Motor, the company is establishing a TVET Skills Training Centre to train youth in EV assembly, maintenance, and sales, with support from MARA and TVET@KKDW. Graduates with SKM Level 3 certification may also be appointed as EV dealer entrepreneurs, opening doors to new livelihoods in the green mobility economy.
With a strong social media presence—over 415,000 followers on Instagram and 200,000 on TikTok—GGR Motor actively educates and engages the community, helping to normalize electric motorcycles as a mainstream transport option.
EV Rider Malaysia 2025, supported by industry leaders such as EVERXON, BATERIKU.com, VECTRIX, PLMM, MARA, and TVET@KKDW, promises to be the largest gathering of EV motorcycle stakeholders in Southeast Asia. Industry players, media, and influencers from Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia, and China are expected to participate. The event will feature product exhibitions, investor networking, community showcases, lucky draws, and EV test rides—culminating in a full-day celebration of the electric revolution.

A key highlight was the EV Rider Malaysia 2025 soft launch event held at Saloma KLCC, attended by VVIPs including Yang Amat Mulia Tengku Syarif Temenggong Perlis Dato’ Seri Diraja Syed Amir Abidin Jamalullail (Chairman of GGR Motor); Azuan Md Ghazali (Deputy Director of MARA Selangor); Muhammad Mussadiq Mohamed Azmi (Managing Director of GGR Motor); Mohd Izwan bin Mazlan (Managing Director of PMH MOTOR); Azarol Faizi (Managing Director of Bateriku.com); Tuan Mohd Zameer Zahur Hussain (CEO of PLMM); Dr. Nizar Abd Jalil (Principal Partner of GGR Motor); as well as artists and celebrities.
Adding to its cultural outreach, GGR Motor is also one of the official sponsors of the Festival Aku, Muzik & Kamu (AMK) Indie 2025, which will take place from 26–27 July at the Sepang International Circuit. The festival will feature 21 local indie bands across various genres, and GGR Motor will offer two Lion G1 motorcycles as grand prizes to lucky fans—further strengthening the brand’s presence among Malaysia’s youth and creative community.
According to Managing Director Muhammad Mussadiq Mohamed Azmi, “EV Rider Malaysia is more than just a product launch—it’s a national movement toward low-carbon mobility and technological empowerment. This platform strengthens user education, attracts investment, and connects the local EV ecosystem. It’s a bold step toward positioning Malaysia as a regional leader in sustainable transportation.”

With rapid expansion plans, grassroots empowerment programs, and a growing product line focused on affordability, GGR Motor is blazing a trail for Malaysia’s green mobility future, proving that locally developed, Bumiputera-led innovation can drive global progress in the electric vehicle space.
As Malaysia accelerates its transition to sustainable transport, GGR Motor’s pioneering efforts and the EV Rider Malaysia 2025 initiative will be instrumental in making electric motorcycles the preferred choice for millions, showcasing the strength of local innovation on the global stage.
